Come closer so you all can hear About a story that will bring you all fear Listen closely and soon you shall see For what the Raven has done to me
Upon a cold and shallow winters eve Close to sleep I nearly achieve Comes a tapping at me chamber door I slowly rise and shuffle across the floor
I open the door so I see That there's nothing there how can this be This makes me wonder if it's the window shutters But as soon as I open the window in it flutters
The Raven of all perches itself upon my chamber door It's stare so horribly cold as it forever says"Nevermore" That one word ringing in my mind brings me such hate For that only word spells my fate
It has stolen my soul and heart I swear that bird is tearing me apart As it nibbled and pecked at me brain It slowly began to drive me insane
Hear my warning if you want to survive Keep on listening if you want to stay alive Hear these last words before I fell For that Raven came from the fiery pits of hell.
This was an assignment I had to do for my honors english class. We had to make a poem of the horror stories we were given.Mine was "The Raven" By Edgar Allen Poe. Since it was already a poem of a short story I had to reinterpret it. Read it to my parents said I should share it. So here it is. I fixed the poem up a bit so it's not the exact one I had turned into my class. Hoped you liked reading it. (:
